I’ve broken down what has worked for me into a 4 Part Healing Program. Learn how to finally heal from chronic illness by incorporating all of them into your daily life. This is a holistic self care approach taking care of body, mind and spirit.
Healing is possible for all of us. Your body is working hard everyday trying to keep you healthy! The reason why you have so much inflammation is because your body is going after viruses and toxins, it is not deliberately attacking your organs or tissues, or joints, or skin, or brain. I know this is what we have all been told, but you need to change that way of thinking. Your brain and body connection is very powerful.
How quickly you heal will depend on your illness and how long you have been sick. For me, I started physically feeling stronger after a month or so and that kept me going. It took a full year before I could see the healing (my skin, my blood results). I had been sick for over 15 years since my first onset with an autoimmune disease. It will be tough at times, but you can either start repairing your body, or continue the path you are on.
If you are on any type of medication, keep taking it! This is not a replacement for your medical regiment you are currently on. It is a safe addition that will work with your medication until hopefully your doctor can start weaning you off. Speak to your doctor, let them know what you are doing and get your blood checked periodically if you are feeling improvement. Which I truly believe you will!!
One important thing to note is you should incorporate as many healing modalities into your life as possible. There is no sense in eliminating harmful foods and eating the healing foods if you still have stress in your life preventing you from getting better. For me, the healing began when I took advantage of everything I could to help my body heal itself, so please be generous with yourself. Eat good healthy food, remove harmful foods and toxins, cleanse your liver, reduce stress by meditating and get your energy field in harmony with Reiki if possible. Remember you want to give your body everything it needs so it can fight for you and ultimately bring it into a place of perfect health.
My regiment is different from the Autoimmune Paleo Diet in that I limit animal fats and it’s not all about my gut health. I’m still mindful of my gut, but I don’t believe that is the true cause of my illnesses. For five years I followed the AIP diet and it did bring me some relief, but I never recovered or felt anywhere as near as good as I do now. I used to eat bacon, bison, and lots of other meats. I drank bone broth everyday for years.I also eliminated night shade vegetables from my diet.
Since detoxing is a big part of my program, I had to reduce the fat in my diet so my liver could work at its best. I also realized that for me, I could eat nightshade vegetables. I eat lots of potatoes now, and my health has improved! I’m also able to eat white rice and other grains in moderation that the AIP diet doesn’t allow. Yet, it’s important to remember that we are all different, so I say, listen to your own body and see what is best for you. I switched my focus to killing off viruses, removing toxins, cleansing my liver and finding ways to handle stress, things changed. Most importantly, I added the most nutritious foods on the planet to aid in my healing.
You should know what will happen with your body when you start this new approach. First thing is you will be reducing the virus load and slowly detoxing your body, so you might experience some stomach upset or even some skin breakouts at first. Next, you should start to feel stronger and begin to think clearer. Finally, after the virus load is brought way down and the toxins are finally out of your body, then your organs, skin, nervous system, brain, joints, or whatever issues you have will start to repair themselves. This takes time so be patient but its important you know this is happening. Love your incredible body, be thankful for it everyday.
