REIKI
“If you want to find the secrets of the universe, think in terms of energy, frequency and vibrations.”
-Nikola Tesla
I became interested in Energy Healing as another way to help my body heal. During my first few treatment sessions of Reiki (pronounced ray-key), I found myself tearing up for no apparent reason. My practitioner told me I was releasing blockages that could have become clogged from stress, negative thoughts, trauma, and even daily life. After my sessions I would feel a sense of calm and lightness to my body I had not felt in many years. I was hooked! I read anything and everything I could find on the subject and realized anyone can learn to harness this universal energy. Over the course of many years, I worked with a wonderful Reiki Master, Lorry Salluzzi, to get my Level 1, Level 2, Advanced Reiki and finally my Master Certification. Incorporating energy medicine truly helped to bring my body into balance.
Reiki was formed in Japan in the early 1800’s as a healing tool to move energy and remove blockages in the meridians and energy centers (chakras). I understand that some of you might think this is “too out there” for you. For those skeptics I will just say, the field of quantum physics have known about this energy field since 1927. There is no denying we are energy beings and are vibrating, transmitting and receiving energy at all times. Just as blood is moving throughout your body through your veins, so is your energy moving throughout your body in your meridians and chakras. And just as your arteries can get blocked, so can your energy pathways. When either of these are blocked, illness can occur.
I’m happy to say within the last few years, Reiki is finally being acknowledged as a tool in healing. According to the International Association of Reiki Professionals, “Energy healing has finally come to the west and has gained popularity in recent years.Reiki is now one of the top three complementary in-patient therapies in U.S. hospitals, according to an AHA survey. Massage therapy takes first place, with 37% of hospital patients requesting it. Number two is music and art therapy at 25%, and a very close third is “healing touch therapies” at 25%, which included Reiki and Therapeutic Touch.”
An important aspect in Reiki is raising the clients vibrations so they are humming at their optimal range. There are many ways to raise your vibrations; such as Qi Gong, Meditation, positive thoughts, and Tibetan singing bowls.
Reiki promotes self healing, improves sleep, relaxation, improves mental clarity, detoxifies, and supports your immune system.
See my contact page if you would like to set up an appointment with me for a Reiki treatment. Treatments are conducted fully clothed (except for shoes, so wear socks) and usually range from 30-45 minutes. I use a hands-on or hands slightly above your body technique to charge your energy centers and leave you feeling relaxed, centered and balanced. I specialize working with people with autoimmune diseases to help keep their endocrine system running smoothly. I conclude with a discussion how you can continue to keep your energy running smoothly everyday.
*I am now offering Distant Healing sessions via Zoom. Feel free to contact me if you are interested.
